OneNect

OneNect, for a congregation

Nobody should be able to attend here for a year without being missed.

Known, one of the four values seeded with the Riverside Community Church demonstration tenant. It is the church's sentence rather than ours, and the screens further down this page are built from the same fixture.

Gathered
We are a church that meets, in person, most weeks.
Sent
What happens on Sunday is for the rest of the week.
Generous
With money, with time, and with the benefit of the doubt.

Faith is built around what a congregation is actually answerable for: gathering people, noticing who has stopped coming, giving to funds with names on them, and getting a room full of people out of a building safely. It has members rather than colleagues, ministries rather than departments and campuses rather than sites, because those are the words a church already uses.

In build

In build, on the platform Corp already runs on. There is no app for it in a store yet. The screens below are rendered from the Riverside Community Church demonstration tenant, which is seeded and real, not from a shipped binary.

What it does

A Sunday, and
the week around it.

Riverside runs two campuses in Portland and Gresham. The gifts, the funds, the reference numbers and the annual statements below are the seeded records, not illustrations of them.

Gatherings

Three gatherings, two campuses, one list

Services, membership evenings, baptisms and members meetings sit in the same calendar with the same RSVP, which carries guests and dietary needs. A gathering can be marked public so a visitor can find it without an account, and one can be streamed for the people who cannot be in the room.

  • Public gatherings need no account
  • RSVP carries guests and dietary needs
  • Streamed where the room is not enough

Giving

Four funds, and a statement at the end of the year

Members give to a named fund with a method that matches how they actually give: a standing order, a card, a bank transfer, a text, or an envelope with a reference on it. Gift Aid is recorded per gift. At the end of the year every giver gets a statement of what they gave and how many times, without the treasurer assembling it by hand.

  • Standing order, card, transfer, text, envelope
  • Gift Aid per gift
  • Benevolence is held by the deacons, without a committee

Care

Groups are how somebody gets noticed

The value at the top of this page is a claim about a mechanism, and groups are the mechanism: a Tuesday morning, a young families group, a Wednesday coffee, a youth group for years seven to nine. Each has its own feed, its own chat and its own events, and an administrator decides who is in one where that matters.

  • Feed, chat and events per group
  • Care requests stay confidential
  • A group can be open or administered

Safety

A campus is a facility, so it gets facility alerting

A building holding a seated assembly at a known time has concrete life-safety scenarios, which is why the emergency entitlement is filed for Faith on the same footing as for a company. An alert can be sent to whoever is inside a radius rather than to a list, and it sounds through silent mode and a Focus so a phone in a coat pocket is still reached.

  • Reach a list, or reach a radius
  • Sounds through silent and Focus
  • Acknowledgements are counted per campus

The vocabulary

What OneNect for a congregation calls things

A personmember
A groupministry
A gatheringservice
A placecampus
The feedCommunity
The directorycongregation

About forty nouns change per product. Documented in the platform plan, not yet enforced by the apps. See them side by side.

Faith is in build

We will write to you once, on the day a congregation can use it.

There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up to. Send one line saying you would like telling, and the next message you get from us is the one that says it is open. If you would rather talk about a congregation you already lead, say that instead and we will.
