Restricted to a role

Nothing here should depend on one person remembering it.

A principal, a family, and the staff around them across four addresses in three countries. What makes a household run is usually held by whoever has been there longest, and it walks out of the door with them. Estate writes it down once: the standing rules, the week everybody is working to, the spend threshold and the three answers to it, and who is entitled to read which entry.

Estate is household staff coordination. It is not guest lists, venue access or door management, and nothing on this page is.

In build

In build, on the platform Corp already runs on. There is no app for it in a store yet. The screens below are rendered from the Ellery household demonstration tenant, which is seeded and real, not from a shipped binary.

What it does

One household,
four addresses.

Geneva, Annecy, London and a family office in Zurich. The approvals below carry their seeded amounts and their seeded merchants, and the knowledge base entries are the ones the fixture actually writes.

Movements

Everybody knows where the week is going

A principal moves between residences, a family office and a school run, and staff sit in different places. The week is one list: where she is, what is held, and what moves. A day marked held with no commitments before one o'clock is as much a fact about the week as a board meeting is.

  • Four addresses, three countries
  • Held time is a first-class entry
  • The same calendar the rest of the platform uses

Approvals

A threshold, an invoice, and three answers

The principal sets an amount. Anything above it raises an approval carrying the item, the merchant, the person asking and the invoice, and it goes to whoever the principal has said should see it: the chief of staff, the family office, or the principal herself. The three answers are approve, ask for more information, and decline. The record of who approved what, at what threshold, and who was told, is held by us rather than by a third party.

  • Threshold set by the principal
  • Delegate to a manager without losing the record
  • Approve, ask for more, or decline

Knowledge

The thing the household knows, written down once

How the morning starts, what is never done on an aircraft, the standing requirements in a hotel, the food standard, what is never confirmed to the press, who to call and in what order. Some entries are restricted, including a child's allergy protocol and the clinical contacts. When a member of staff changes, the incoming person reads the household rather than being trained into it.

  • Restricted entries are restricted to a role
  • Ask it a question, do not browse it
  • The record outlives the person who wrote it

Scanner

Point the camera at a barcode and get a verdict for a named person

Ingredient Check reads a product against a saved profile, which can be a person, a pet or a herd, holding their allergies, dietary needs and conditions. The verdict is good to go, caution, skip this one, or not found, with the reasons underneath it. A product a colleague added by hand is always labelled as such and never presented as a sourced result.

  • Profiles for a person, a pet or a herd
  • Four verdicts, with the reasons shown
  • Colleague-added products are labelled every time

The vocabulary

What OneNect for an estate calls things

A personmember

About forty nouns change per product. Documented in the platform plan, not yet enforced by the apps. See them side by side.

Estate is in build

One message, on the day it opens.

Nothing before it, and nothing after it unless you ask for it. One line to the address below is enough, and it does not need to say who you work for.
